“The Art of Becoming One’s Own Shadow” is the first full-length release from Seattle 4-piece, Lillydale. “…Shadow” is a musically ambitious and emotionally colorful canvas painted by a band that exudes cathartic joy through musical expression. The Lillydale debut should appeal to fans that appreciate the song craft of groups like Wolf Parade or Arcade Fire. The album was recorded by Seattle producer Johnny Sangster and released by Mt. Fuji in 2007. The record was a stunning debut from a band whose lifespan was all too short. Lillydale featured Josie Markiewicz on lead vocals and guitar, Holly Deye on bass and backing vocals, Jason Williams on lead guitar and David Lopez on drums. Lillydale would disband shortly after the record was released.
