After much anticipation Mt. Fuji Records is thrilled to have an official release date for this split single featuring contributions from Spiral Stairs (Pavement, Preston School of Industry) and The Long Winters. Spiral Stairs contributed the song “Dreams They Guide Us” along with The Long Winters cut “Connections in Nashville” for this special, double A-side single available on September 21st, 2010. Only 500 copies of this 7″ were pressed on beautiful clear vinyl and a free download code is included with every record. Pre-orders the release now from the Mt. Fuji website for arrival before the street date! This will also be available through all digital retailers starting 09.21.10.

This just in from The Whore Moans:

“After much debate and much deliberation Ryan Devlin, Jonny Henningson, Nikki O Anderson, and Jason Kilgore have decided to finally put The Whore Moans’ name to rest. This decision was not easily made, but is due to a general feeling within the group that the current moniker does not accurately reflect its members’ mentality, motivations, or the music that they are currently creating.

However, far from throwing in the towel, the quartet is picking up a new title and starting in on a new project, Hounds of the Wild Hunt. They have plans to go into the studio this summer and tour Europe in the fall.

The Whore Moans’ last show will be held on July 3rd, 2010 at the grand opening of the Columbia City Theater. Performing with them will be Lesbian and Chinese. Come pay your final respects and see the Whore Moans one last time.”

R.I.P. Whore Moans. Long live Hounds of the Wild Hunt.

The Maldives announce SXSW appearance and spring tour dates!

From deep within the heart of Seattle, and coming to a town near you soon, Seattle’s 9 piece alt country darlings, The Maldives, have announced a spring tour that includes appearances at the venerable SXSW Festival in Austin, TX this March. The Maldives will be all over Austin during the festival, including their official SXSW appearance at the No Depression SXSW Showcase on Friday March 19th at The Continental Club. The band will be playing several other parties at the festival and the tour will make stops along the northwest, west coast, southwest, and rocky mountains. Look below for all confirnmed tour dates.
